Today I read Matthew Chapter 5. I think the Beatitude was one the first things I was drawn too when I first went into recovery in 1991. I was spiritually bankrupt and I need hope. I had yet to find a power that would work for me. I tried seeking in every direction and even got into Wicca but that left me lacking. I would try to read the bible - the King James Version and with the dyslexia that I have - it was impossible. Today, things are much easier with audiobooks and text together.
