Happy Birthday Ken

Happy Birthday to you my love. We have been together now for 24 years and I have not regretted one minute of it. You have been the biggest blessing to me. Thank you for that. I love you dearly and always will. This weekend your children are coming to see you and I hope it is the best time ever for you and them.

My Backyard

Good Morning! I am so grateful for my backyard. I have two turtles living on a log across the slip, overgrown with foliage from the last hurricane. It is still a beautiful view, and I can't wait to see what blooms. The only drawback? Mosquitos and alligators! We have screens and citronella to protect us when they start coming. Alligators? My husband has a pistol. Yikes!

I didn't put the boardwalk in this scene, but it does have one that leads out to the lake. My fear is alligators, lol. I will not let my dogs out in the backyard without closely watching them. I have been here two months and have not seen a gator, but they say they are there.

Today's Artwork is a 12 by 9-inch multi-media watercolor painting.  I used these materials: artist loft watercolor pencils and gouache. I was inspired by my backyard meditation,

Meet Casey

Hello,

My name is Casey, and I am six weeks old. I am Chihauhau, and mini Pit. My sister, Sadie, doesn't know what to think about me. She will not even get close to me; she avoids me like the plague. It's probably because I am so little. Normally, Sadie will fight for food, but not for this one. She allows her to ate peacefully. She will be a good sister, and show her the ropes once she gets bigger.

I am so grateful to have her. She has been such a joy already, and her litter mate is right next door.

Wise Owl Gratitude

Everything will work out as it should for this RV. I just have to Let Go and Let God. Part of the wiring went out in it now. We can add that to the list a leaking roof and a rotten floor next to the shower and toilet. We have been looking for another and can't get the credit for it. I am still determining if we can afford any payment anyway because of all the inflation. Our downfall came with the impact of COVID-19. As seniors, we will never recover from it.  I do have to say I haven't missed a meal.

Yesterday, I increased my prayer time to five times a day, and I will do so again today.  My blood sugar this morning fasting was 144, too! Yay. Things are working out in this area now.

I did this card face yesterday on 5.5 x 8 multimedia paper using gouache paints and Sharpies.

Let Them

Are you familiar with the “Let Them” theory?
I’ll tell you that the more I grow, the more I am okay with accepting the “Let Them” in my life and relationships. Even family can mistreat and disrespect you.
This is something that took me a very long time to learn. I used to tolerate a lot because I didn't want to lose people. I learned the hard way if they were really my people, they would never treat me like that. Don't make the mistake of being so understanding and forgiving that you overlook the fact that you're being repeatedly disrespected.
Let them be upset.
Let them judge you.
Let them misunderstand you.
Let them gossip about you,
Let them ignore you.
Let them be "right."
Let them doubt you.
Let them not like you.
Let them not speak to you.
Let them run your name in the ground.
Let them make you out to be the villain.
Whatever it is that people want to say about you, let them!
Kindly step aside and LET THEM.
The hard truth is they know how much they are hurting you. They just simply don't care. They did it knowing it could cause them to lose you. They did it anyway. People that love you care about how they make you feel.
The end.
Let them go.
There will be people that would rather lose you than be honest about what they've done to you. Let them go.
The lack of respect was the closure. The lack of apology was the closure. The lack of care was the closure. The lack of accountability was the closure. The lack of honesty was the closure. Let them go.
Make the decision to no longer sit at tables where you might be the topic when you get up. Let them go.
You can still be kind. You can even still love them deeply. But do it from the distance they created in their words and actions. Access to you is a privilege they have proven they can’t be trusted with. Let them go.
You don’t need to tell your side of the story. God already knows. Let God fight the battle for you. Let them go.
It’s taken me a long time to get here. Sleepless nights, countless tears, managing a range of emotions filled with anger, disappointment, confusion and deep hurt. Lots of self reflection, self preservation, deep prayer and seeking wisdom from those much wiser than me.
If you are struggling with this please know you are not alone. We will never understand why hurt people hurt people. But we can do the hard work to grow ourselves. Because healed people do in fact heal people.
Don’t you dare let them steal your joy.
Don’t you dare let them steal your light.
Don’t you dare let them steal your peace.
You are in control of that.
Hold tight to what you can control and release your grip on what you can’t control.
Let them go.
